Johnny Gat

Johnny Gat is a video game character in the Saints Row video game series. He is first seen in Saints Row as the Lieutenant of the Third Street Saints. Johnny is unpredictable, hot-headed and very trigger happy. He would definitely shoot first and ask questions later. He is the most feared of the Saints. Johnny is also Asian.

Johnny has a relationship with local R & B singer Aisha that is seen in Saints Row and Saints Row 2. She is the only one that gets to see Johnny’s “soft” side. Johnny helped save Aisha’s sister and helped her fake her own death to get away from rival gang in Saints Row. After that she was his for life. I like the way he calls her “Ish”. I also like the Blasian romance. It may just be the first in video games.

Johnny is voiced by actor Daniel Dae Kim. Damn!! He sounds sooooooooo sexy! Check it out:

Saints Row the Third will be released in mid-November. It is not know if Johnny will survive the first minutes of the game. I hope he does. There is no Saints Row without Johnny Gat.

Donnie Yen

Donnie Yen has become one of the most celebrated Hong Kong actors and martial artists. Donnie is a multi-faceted entertainer whose many talents include directing, producing and action choreographing.
images[5]
Donnie arrived on the scene in 1983 as a stuntman for the movie Shaolin Drunkard. His first acting role was in the 1984 film Drunken Tai Chi. Donnie made his directorial debut with the 1997 film Legend of the Wolf.

Donnie’s most popular roles to date are IP Man (2008) & IP Man 2 (2010) in which Donnie plays the title role of Yip Man the Wing Chun master who taught Bruce Lee. Donnie also reprised the role of Chen Zen in Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zen (2010) a role that was originated by Bruce Lee in Fist of Fury. Donnie’s most recent film is Wu Xia which co-stars Takeshi Kaneshiro. The highly popular film grossed over 15 million in it’s first week of release in China is now making it’s way across the globe. Expect to see it in year end award ceremonies.

Donnie is also a devoted husband and father. Just recently it was revealed that Donnie composed a song for his wife for their first anniversary (how very sweet and romantic).

I just have one question – What’s up with Hollywood?

Takeshi Kaneshiro

Takeshi Kaneshiro is one of my favorite actors. He is popular in the US for the wu xia movie House of Flying Daggers released in 2004. Takeshi plays Jin a police captain in the Tang Dynasty who is caught in a love triangle.

I first saw him in the 1995 film Fallen Angels. Takeshi plays a mute who breaks into businesses and runs them for fun. His character is not a main character and the plot is also a side plot but it stands out as the best in the movie.
Fallen Angels
In recent years he has starred in the films, The Warlords and The Battle for Red Cliff (parts I and II). In the Battle for Red Cliff Takeshi excellently played Zhuge Liang one of the most accomplished military strategist during the three kingdoms era. His acting along side Tony Leung was phenomenal.

Takeshi’s current film is Wu Xia which also stars the great Donnie Yen (why he has not been recognized as the greatest action star of his time is beyond me is a mystery but, I will save this for another post). It also re-teamed Takeshi with director Peter Chen.

I think the thing I like the most about Mr. Kaneshiro is that amazing gaze. He always looks like he is seeing right down to your soul that he knows you and he knows what your thinking.
